My New Path

Over the years, I’ve explored different mediums and subjects searching for how I can truly convey my passion for painting.

I realise now I want to share my own stories and messages to capture both the beauty and trials of life through art, especially when my family went through such a heart-wrenching experience in 2013. Since then, we've experienced a series of trials together and it has inspired me to create a series of works that offer vignettes of personal stories.

The first piece of the Reflections series is titled "Overcomer". I'm still working on the piece, but here are some progress photos.

The idea for this piece came from an art challenge on social media with the theme being Beauty from Ashes using discarded material. I used a cardboard box I was about to throw out.

This is about depression, remembering the feeling of drowning and being enveloped in darkness. Then finally overcoming it, rising up out of the ashes.
